ABOUT
Hello, I introduce myself
I’m Mauro Cirigliano, a professional photographer. I am a great lover of our planet earth, nature, mountains, but above all, photography. Yes, I like to call it passion before work. Photography has always accompanied my growth. I still remember the many disposables cameras that I “wasted” as a child shooting whatever I liked. With the technological development, I have always looked with strong interest every electronic device that had particular photographic performance, until, with a bit of sacrifice, I managed to buy my first reflex camera.
My passion
I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful country that is Italy, but above all, not far from one of the most beautiful natural settings in the world, the Dolomites. I still continue to explore beautiful and untouched places, spending most of my free time in the mountains and in the wilderness. I have always loved their beauty, their colors and all those situations of light that nature can give you especially during sunrise and sunset. My greatest passion is to live it and share it through my eyes, capturing the most significant moments and the most beautiful compositions.
My inspiration
Nature. It has become my greatest source of inspiration. When I find myself in a natural context, a series of reactions start in me that lead me to reflect on the beauty of our planet, on what it has to offer us and, unfortunately, on how much man ignores this. This triggers my desire to represent nature through my eyes in order to share it with those who love it and help rediscover it, those who have forgotten it.
My style
It was born through my inspiration. I try to make the most of what strikes me about nature, through the search for compositions useful to enhance every element of the scenery. Being in contact with nature continuously stimulates my creativity, pushing me to create shots capable of moving and transporting me every time I observe them.
My night shots
I am particularly attached to night photography. Observing the beauty of our planet, leads me to reflect on its origins and how it all came to be, directing my gaze towards the stars every time! Besides the celestial bodies that manage to always captivate me, I particularly love to look at the Milky Way, our galaxy, that represents the theme of my work best. Hence the instinct to reconcile the beauty of our planet with that of the universe through “astro-landscape” shots.
What I look for in a shot…
is what hasn’t been seen yet.
